
The Duluth Economic Development Authority invites residents and visitors to explore First Street with the new Discover First Street Passport, an interactive activity launching during First Street Friday on Thursday, July 31, and continuing through Monday, August 31.
The free Discover First Street Passport encourages participants to visit First Street businesses, restaurants, nonprofits, and community destinations while completing activities and collecting stamps along the way. Participants who complete their passport by August 31 will be entered into a prize drawing, hosted in partnership with Downtown Duluth.
Passports can be picked up and dropped off at two locations:
- Lake Superior YMCA – Downtown Branch (302 W 1st Street)
- Duluth City Hall, Room 160 (411 W 1st Street)
How to Participate
1. Pick Up Your Passport
Passports will be available for pick up starting July 31st during First Street Friday at the two pick-up and drop-off locations identified above. Passports will be available for pick up the entire month of August. A printable version of the passport is also available for download.
2. Explore First Street
Visit participating businesses and organizations and complete the activities listed on your passport. After finishing an activity, ask a staff member at that location to stamp your passport.
Activities include:
- Take a fitness class on First Street
- Enjoy a beverage from a First Street business
- Grab lunch on First Street
- Visit your favorite First Street business
- Grab dinner on First Street
- Visit a new-to-you First Street business
- Donate to a non-profit on First Street
- Visit the Clayton-Jackson-McGhie Memorial and complete the featured quote
- Drop off your completed passport
Collect all eight stamps and complete the featured quote to complete your passport.
3. Complete Your Contact Information
Before submitting your passport, be sure to fill out your name, phone number, and email address on the back so we can contact you if you're selected as a prize winner.
4. Submit Your Passport
Completed passports must be submitted by Monday, August 31, to be entered into the prize drawing.

Prize Drawing
Everyone who submits a completed passport or a no-purchase entry by August 31 will be entered into a prize drawing sponsored by Downtown Duluth. Winners will be notified using the contact information provided on their passport.
